We stayed in Ballet Bay another day and paddled and clambered over one of the uninhabited islands and watched the boats come and go. On Thursday we headed to Pender Harbour to spend the weekend with Ben and Erin at Erin’s parents’ home. There were lots of people around and we had a great time socializing at the house, on the dock and on a day trip to Buccaneer Bay. At mid day on Sunday we took advantage of a light wind on Georgia Strait and crossed over to Nanaimo under sail. The docks at NYC and the harbour were full of boats but there were mooring buoys available in Mark Bay so that’s where we spent the night. The next day we had a visit with Mum and Dad before riding the tide down Northumberland Channel and tying up on Anne’s dock on DeCourcy Island. After morning visits with Anne and Renate it was time to end our summer cruise and take Snug back to her mooring in Degnan Bay having put 1800 nautical miles under her keel. It was a great trip exploring BC’s fabulous coast, making new friends, playing with our cameras and enjoying being close to the wildlife that we encountered along the way. We’re already planning our 2015 trip . . .
